This year’s Bali Tharpanam will take place in a serene, spiritually charged riverside location along The Esplanade, River Medway, in Rochester — just a short distance from the temple. This tranquil setting has been carefully chosen to ensure sanctity and ease of access for performing this most revered offering to our Pitrus (forefathers).
🙏 The Significance of Karkidaka Vavubali
Karkidaka Vavubali is a profound ritual rooted in Sanatana Dharma, traditionally observed during the sacred month of Karkidakam (Aadi). It allows devotees to:
- Honour and pay homage to their departed ancestors
- Seek their blessings for peace, protection, and prosperity
- Fulfil the sacred duty of Pitru Rina — the spiritual debt owed to one’s lineage
- Purify one’s karma and foster harmony in the family and soul lineage
This is a moment of deep reflection, humility, and spiritual connection — an offering of love, gratitude, and prayer that transcends generations.
